Everything was absolutely gorgeous and luxurious, as we have come to expect with Secrets. From the moment we stepped onto the resort I knew we had nothing to be worried about. After booking our trip we started to get a little nervous from some of the negative reviews. In October 2012 we honeymooned at Secrets Maroma and have wanted to visit another Secrets ever since, so when it came time to book another vacation we went with Secrets Aura. I'm not sure what the bad reviewers are experiencing, but our experience was fantastic! I would recommend this resort and I will be back! If you want a nice vacation at a great resort this is the place! Even the gardeners stop and greet you each day. A boat pulled up to the beach and delivered fresh Grouper and Red Snapper, which the staff immediately started filleting them and then grilled it right there on the beach! Awesome! Our room was well attended to by Elena always had a surprised waiting for us each evening when we arrived back at our room. On Thursday they had fresh catch of the day. We ate at all 3 of the a la carte restaurants, all were good.

Thanks for everything Yared! Food at the resort is really good, better than most of the all-inclusives we've visited. A great guy to talk with and just a really nice guy. My wife told them it was my birthday on the last day we were there and they brought me a cake and sang Happy Birthday to me! Yared (pronounced Jared) was the concierge for the preferred area, he was awesome. Always a smile and willing to get us anything we needed! Also Orlando was just as accommodating and friendly. Our waiter most mornings was Gilberto, he was incredible. The staff at the Market Cafe was incredible, Roseanna met us the first morning and welcomed us by name every morning after that. They took care of us all week, we couldn't have asked for better! Awesome, thanks guys.

The entire staff welcomes you home! That is actually what they say to you, "Welcome Home"! The next people we met were Vicky and Mauricio, the bartender and waitress at the preferred pool. Karen checked us in and was warm and charming, she really made us feel at home. It is advertised as a tropical view, but, from our balcony on the 2nd floor we overlooked the pool and had a great view of the ocean! When we first arrived we were taken to the preferred check-in by Luis, he also took us to our room he did a great job of making us feel welcome. We stayed in the preferred section in room 722. Just got back from a great week at Secrets Aura! We were there the last week of May (24-31). I recommend this resort, it has a beautiful beach and nobody walks up to you trying to sell you stuff.

Take pictures before you leave the parking lot, get copies of ALL paperwork and take pictures of the car when you return it. BEWARE of Avis/Hertz trying to scam you for damages. I took a picture of "damage" spot and there is rust all over it, I'm currently arguing with them over this. We rented a car from Avis in the airport which was fine until we went to return the car and they claimed there was damage to the underneath of the car. The guest services people are friendly but beware they will try to get you to take a "timeshare" type of tour. We spent most nights in our rooftop pool and looked at the stars. The nightlife was almost non existant which is ok if you want peace and quiet. The food is excellent especially Oceana they had a wide variety and it was always tasty. The air conditioner worked great which made it pleasant considering how hot it got.

The refrigerator was stocked everyday with cokes and beer and the cleaning staff kept the room very tidy. The only disappointment in the room is we did not have a soaking tub but it wasn't a huge deal. We rented a rooftop solarium room and it was spacious and the pool was very clean. Just got back from a trip to Secrets Auro and it was great trip.
